Selected Proposals
Using multimedia technology to improve foreign language pronunciation involves the creation of web-based Flash modules. Students will be able to review and practice Spanish pronunciation at their own pace in this series of virtual language labs. Proposal (PDF)
Virtual Exercise Physiology Laboratory Activities will be a series of interactive simulations that explain physiological responses to exercise. Students will select the appropriate tests and equipment in response to case study information. Proposal (PDF)
Information Literacy Online will be a series of online tutorials that teach the concepts necessary for effective term papers and research assignments. These tutorials will be available to all UF students and provide important information on how to find and utilize information in an effective and appropriate manner. Proposal (PDF)
Bringing social issues into science-based on-line master’s programs: a course on gender, development and globalization will be developed for CD and online delivery for use in programs that range from Women’s Studies, CALS, to Engineering. The course will give students understanding of the social, cultural and political issues involved with globalization and development. Proposal (PDF)
Overview
In keeping with the University of Florida President's Strategic Plan that a state-of-the-art Information Technology system must meet the needs of faculty and students in teaching, the Office of the Provost will award funding up to $10,000 to grant recipients for the development of projects leading to technology-based instructional approaches that improve quality of student learning, reduce the costs of instruction, and promote accessibility.
Faculty teaching large enrollment courses, team taught courses, and courses taught with an international component are encouraged to apply.
Proposal Format
The proposal must be focused on improvements to student learning, using technologies that will reduce the cost of instruction and promote accessibility.
- All aspects of the proposed project must not exceed three pages, including the budget.
- RFP's must be submitted using the RFP template.
- Proposals that do not comply with this format will not be considered.

Other Requirements
Principal Investigators of each selected proposal must attend a project meeting which will be held on April 26. Faculty that submitted the selected projects agree to present a report on their project at the UF Academic Technology Symposium. The next Symposium will be held in the fall of 2008.
*Faculty members must be willing and able to devote a significant amount of time to successfully complete their project.
