Screen enlarger

A screen enlarger or magnifier is an application that enlarges either a part or all of the computer screen. There are varying types of screen enlarger software programs, from basic to all-encompassing. Basic screen enlargers come standard in most modern operating systems (Windows 2000 and later, Mac OS 9 and later). These basic applications allow a customizable magnification bar and limited options. More expansive software packages also include built-in screen reading, screen smoothing for jagged edges, and various screen orientation helpers. The biggest flaw in screen enlarging is the loss of screen orientation since a user is taking something designed to be presented as a whole and magnifying and focusing on a specific piece. This technology is mainly used by the visually impaired.
