IT Orientation, June 5, 2008

IT Orientation training sessions are packed with information, designed to offer new employees an overview of the IT resources available to them. Existing employees are encouraged to register and attend for a refresher course on their resources and responsibilities at the University of Florida. Registration is free.

IT Security at Peer 2 Peer, June 18, 2008

Please note that the date, time, and room have been changed for this “Summer Special” Peer2Peer! It is now scheduled for Wednesday, June 18, in JWRU B74-75, from 1:30 – 3:30 pm. The UF IT Security Team and the Information Technology Training Committee invite you to join us for this special Peer2Peer session. This event focuses exclusively on IT security policy. Kathy Bergsma is the only scheduled speaker and she will explain new UF IT security policies on data security and risk assessment.

Teaching Second Life

In this presentation to the Distance Learning Council, Paul Fishwick describes Second Life and its use at UF. Second Life is a 3D virtual environment in which content is created by users.
