How can we help you improve your writing skills?
If you are an English as a Second Language (ESL) student, you may visit the RWC to improve your writing skills. By working one-on-one with a writing tutor, you can receive assistance brainstorming, drafting, and revising your writing. In addition to answering questions about basic form and usage when writing in English, tutors can also provide support for larger writing projects such as thesis and dissertation chapters. For larger projects, plan on bringing short excerpts (2-5 pages) to the RWC regularly.
Because good writing requires practice, the RWC also offers a self-paced plan of study for those wanting to focus on writing skills development even when no writing assignment is due. To participate, you would first meet with a tutor to determine areas you wish to improve and then attend the RWC about once a week to meet with a tutor and complete short assignments on your own.
