Department of Geography
Booth Description:
The SimBasin game allows students to control the spatial and temporal factors governing the flood response of a river. Storm size, duration, direction and speed of movement constitute the meteorological input. The speed with which water moves through the system is determined by decisions made about land uses (Forest, Agriculture and Urban) and their spatial configuration. The simulation outputs graphs of flow in the river over time in response to students' decisions.
