Defining and Avoiding Plagiarism: The WPA Statement on Best Practices. The National Council of Writing Program Administrators, a 600-institution association of college and university writing program directors, has just adopted this statement on plagiarism. The statement was developed over a period of several months by blue-ribbon committee, a draft was circulated among WPA members, and the final version was unanimously ratified by the WPA Executive Board this month.
